About Naduno

Open-water swimmers need someone alongside them.

A swimmer crossing a lake, training for a race or taking on a long swim needs a paddler in a kayak, on a SUP or in a canoe beside them. Swim events need a team of safety paddlers on the course. Finding those people usually means asking around and hoping. Naduno puts swimmers, paddlers and event organizers in one place so they can find each other, agree the details, and know who's coming.

How it works

For swimmers

  1. Add your swim: when, where, how far, and what help you'd like. Link it to the event if it's part of one.
  2. See paddlers who fit, with the reasons why, and chat with any who offer to help.
  3. Send a request with the details to the one you choose. When they accept, it's confirmed.

You can also share a link to your swim, or send a personal invite to a paddler you know.

For paddlers

  1. Sign up in a minute: your first name, your area and what you paddle. Add your experience whenever you like.
  2. See swims and safety shifts near you, or turn on alerts to hear about new ones.
  3. Offer to help a swimmer and chat with them, or sign up for an event's safety shift.

Nothing is booked until you accept. You choose what you take on.

For event organizers

  1. List your event and its safety shifts: when, where and how many paddlers you need.
  2. Paddlers sign up for open places, or you invite them, including with a link you can send to your club or last year's team.
  3. See who's confirmed, who's still needed, and which swimmers in your event are looking for a paddler.

If a swimmer has already added your event, you can claim it and manage it.

What Naduno does, and doesn't do

  • It introduces people. Naduno doesn't employ, vet, train or supervise anyone, and doesn't run swims or events. Profiles and reviews are self-reported and not checked, and there are no “verified” badges. Ask about experience and plans before you agree to anything.
  • A booking is clear. A request sets out the swim or shift, and it's confirmed only when the paddler accepts. Reminders go out before the day, and if someone cancels, the other person is told straight away.
  • Payment is between you. Many paddlers volunteer; a swimmer or event can offer an amount. Any payment is arranged and paid directly between the people involved. Naduno doesn't handle money or take a fee.
  • Your privacy. Others see your first name and last initial. Your home area is stored only roughly, never as an address. Your email and phone are shared only with the other person on a confirmed booking.
  • Safety stays with you and the event. Event organizers are responsible for their safety plan, and swimmers and paddlers for their own decisions on the day.

Who can join

Anyone 18 or older, free. Each account has one role (swimmer, paddler or event organizer), so nobody is on both sides of a booking. Any event can be listed, with no approval needed.
