Messages and chat
You can chat with the other person about a swim before anything is booked, and keep chatting once it is.
Finding your conversations
- Step 1: Tap Bookings at the top of the page. On a phone, tap the menu button (three lines) first.
- Step 2: Tap the Requests tab.
- Step 3: Your chats are under Conversations. A “new” label means there's a message you haven't read.
Sending a message
- Step 1: Type in the box that says “Write a message…”.
- Step 2: Tap Send, or press Enter on a keyboard.
The other person sees it straight away, and gets an email if they don't read it on Naduno soon.
Who you can chat with
- Swimmers and paddlers: a chat starts when a paddler taps Offer to help on a swim. Swimmers can chat with every paddler who offered.
- Swimmers can't message a paddler who hasn't offered. To ask one, send them a request.
- Safety shifts: the paddler and the event organizer can chat on the invitation or booking page.
When a chat closes
A chat closes if the swimmer says Not this time to an offer, if the paddler taps Withdraw offer, or when the swimmer confirms a different paddler. It also closes if either of you blocks the other. You can still read the old messages, but you can't send new ones.
Common questions
If we agree something in the chat, is it booked?
No. Nothing is booked until the swimmer sends a request and the paddler taps Accept and confirm. If something important changes later, the swimmer should update the swim's details too.
Someone sent me something rude or worrying.
You can block or report them. See Blocking or reporting someone.
