Requests and bookings
A request is an ask that hasn't been agreed yet. It becomes a booking when the paddler says yes. Both are under Bookings.
Tap Bookings at the top of the page (on a phone, in the menu). A number beside it means something is waiting for you.
The two tabs
- Requests: asks that haven't been agreed yet, your conversations, and requests that closed without a booking.
- Bookings: everything that's agreed, coming up soonest first, and past bookings below.
If someone asks you to paddle
- Step 1: Open the request. It's under Needs your response on the Requests tab.
- Step 2: Read the details. If you're not sure about anything, ask in the chat at the bottom.
- Step 3: Tap Accept and confirm to say yes, or Decline to say no. You can give a reason if you like.
Please reply before the time shown. If nobody replies in time, the request closes (“Expired”), so the swimmer can ask someone else.
Once it's booked
- The booking page shows Confirmed, and the other person's email and phone number so you can reach each other.
- Tap Apple Calendar, Google or Outlook to add it to your calendar.
- Two days before, we ask you both to tap Reconfirm so you each know the other is still coming.
Common questions
What do the labels mean?
Waiting for reply: not answered yet. Confirmed: booked. Declined: they said no. Expired: nobody replied in time. Withdrawn: the person who asked took it back. Cancelled: a booking that was called off. Completed: it's happened.
Can I ask two paddlers at once?
No. You can only have one request waiting for each swim. To ask someone else, wait for a reply or tap Withdraw request.
